Migration checklist: what to gather before we start

Migration is included and we do the work. What speeds it up most is having these things ready before we begin. Most people can gather them in an hour.

Your contacts #

  • An export as CSV or Excel, including tags or lists, custom fields, and subscription status.
  • Consent dates if your current tool records them. These matter: without them you cannot prove you were allowed to email someone.
  • A note of which segments you actually use. Most exports contain a dozen segments that nobody has opened in two years.

Your email #

  • Which domain you send from, and who manages the DNS for it.
  • Your current sender name and reply-to address.
  • A list of the automations that genuinely matter. Not all of them, the ones that would be missed.

Your shop, if you have one #

  • A product export.
  • Whether you have active subscriptions, and with which payment provider. This determines whether existing customers need to re-enter payment details, and usually they do not.
  • Your invoice layout, or an example invoice, so we can match it.

Your content #

  • Which pages must keep their exact URL. We redirect the rest.
  • Course content and enrolments, if you run courses.
  • Your logo, fonts and colours, if you also take the website module.

The list people forget #

Write down every place your current system is connected to something else: a webhook, a Zapier scenario, a form embedded on a partner site, a spreadsheet that fills itself. These are the things that stop working quietly after a switch, and they are the reason to write them down now rather than discover them in three weeks.

What we do with it #

We build the new environment alongside your existing one. Nothing points at it and nothing is switched until you have looked at it and said yes. Your current system keeps running the whole time. There is never a day where nothing works.
